Rezoning Union Square in Somerville from an arts perspective
Union Square in Somerville, Massachusetts is expected to see growth due to a proposed extension of the MBTA's Green Line. In anticipation, the Somerville Arts Council has worked with the Mayor's Office of Strategic Planning and Community Development to create zoning that compliments that growth while providing incentives for arts-related development.

Grant Opportunity for Artist Space Projects!
MetLife Foundation, Ford Foundation and LINC have released an RFP for "SPACE FOR CHANGE: Building Community Through Innovative Art Spaces".

3 artist live/work units are proposed on Terrace Street in Mission Hill. The site is less than two blocks from an Orange Line subway stop and is close to MassArt, the MFA, Northeastern, Roxbury Community College and other artist uses in the immediate neighborhood. These live/work units will be sold at very reasonable prices. The nonprofit developer needs to know more about the demand from artists for the units before proceeding with construction.
