Artist Specific Searches

The majority of these sites combine searches for live/work and commercial properties.

1. artspacefinder 

ArtistLink's FREE service to help you find space

2. artSource/Artists Resource Center

A comprehensive index of arts-related employment opportunities, internships, grants, residencies, exhibitions, public art commissions, artist workspaces, and related community resources published by the Artist's Resource Center at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

3.  Stage Source: The Alliance of Theater Artists and Producers 

For a small fee you can subscribe to The Source Online, a searchable database of StageSource's comprehensive guide to theater in the greater Boston area.   It includes listings of individual theatre artists, theatre companies, rehearsal and performance spaces, casting agencies, training resources, etc.

4. Boston Dance Alliance

The Greater Boston Dance Directory includes listings for dance instruction, rehersal and performance facilities and press and grant information.  It is produced once a year as a book and is also available to download off the website.

5. The BRA's Artist Space Initiative 

The Boston Redevelopment Authority has a unique artist space initiative which is producing affordable artist live/work space in the city.  Be sure to sign up for their mailing list to find out about great opportnities.

6. The Artist Community Pages on Craigslist 

You've probably been here before.  It's a bit messy and hard to navigate, but it definitely has a bunch to offer.  Be sure to enter search words to refine your search, such as 'studio' or workspace,  etc.

7. The Artist Foundation

Local non-profit which sends out housing opportunities and much more via email,  be sure to sign up on their list to get the emails.

8. Alliance of Artist Communities

This site lists all of the places across the country which provide residences and you can search for opportunities online, so you can ship yourself off to Wisconsin for 6 months!
