Up to 36 new artist studios are available for commitment now, with occupancy scheduled for January, 2013. These studios, being built in the top three floors of the historical Gates Block, in downtown Lowell, will each be totally self-contained with floor-to-ceiling walls, lockable doors, individual electric meters, individual air conditioning and heating unit. Each studio will have at least one window. Studio spaces range in size from 148 sq.ft. to 460 sq.ft. Some spaces can be custom sized. There will be one restroom per floor with a separate slop-sink area. No in-studio plumbing.
