General Web Searches for Residential

If you are looking for space specifically developed for artists, be sure to check out artspacefinder and our Artist Specific Searches page.

Be sure to check out our section on Purchasing Space, which includes information on how to sign up for affordble housing lotteries.

The Multiple Lisiting Service

All residential properties that are currently listed are available to the public now through many different web sites. All properties are listed on something called the Multiple Listing Service (MLS). Basically, all real estate brokerage companies will give you access to the list through their web site, and you can easily search for properties in your area.

They might try to entice you and say that only they have the right to this information but it is not true, everyone can see the list of every house being sold. Hence you can just find a typical brokerage web site that represents your area and you can see the list through their web site. Here’s a few example sites:

www.sharethecommission.com

www.newenglandmoves.com

www.zillow.com

This site allows you to compare home prices and look at neighborhoods - an awesome tool!

Other Sites

You might also check the real estate sections of your local newspapers for example:

The Boston Globe

The Worcester Telegram and Gazette

Cape Cod Times

The Berkshire Eagle

Also Craigslist is a great place to search for property:

Craigslist: Housing General

Craigslist: Real Estate For sale
