Access to Specialty Mortgage Products

Specialty mortgage products are available to first time buyers as well as low and moderate-income buyers. Each program has specific requirements so it is best to review each product before ruling yourself ineligible. Specialty products include:

  • Soft-Second Mortgage
  • MassHousing Mortgages
  • Fannie Mae Mortgages
  • FreddieMac Mortgages
  • U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)

Most banks and credit unions have mortgage product information on their websites. Eligibility rules including completing homebuyer education, having a minimum credit rating, income and asset limits may apply.
