The Classic Development Process

The Classic Development Process

The groundbreaking for Keen Studios in Chelsea was April 4th, 2007.  It has 14 affordable artists units.

The "classic development process"  as it often applies to live/work projects, is shown on the Art Space Development Chart pdf, below.  The keepers of the classic process are the bankers, planners, architects, lawyers and contractors who are used to a pattern much like the one laid out.

While buying and developing a building is a complex process, it can be achieved. Other artists have developed their own studio and live/work spaces Their experiences are worth looking at carefully. Check out our section on artist space case studies.
